Confluence is documentation that lives in Jira's shadow. Teams that use Confluence alongside Jira often end up with expensive, complex tooling for what should be a simple task: keeping track of work.
Zoobbe replaces both at a fraction of the cost.
Why Teams Leave Confluence
Confluence is not expensive because of what it does. It is expensive because it bundles with Jira. Many teams pay for Jira licenses primarily to get access to Confluence, then use neither well.
The pain points are consistent: pages that no one can find, spaces that grow without structure, templates that go unused, and the constant feeling that maintaining documentation is a second job on top of actual work.
Zoobbe is simpler. There are no spaces, no templates to configure, no hierarchy to maintain. A board does the work of a Confluence space at a fraction of the complexity.
What Transfers from Confluence
Your documentation pages are the primary asset. If the content is valuable, export it before you cancel. If the content is outdated or unused, do not migrate it — archive it or leave it behind.
Confluence allows space export to HTML or PDF. The HTML export is easier to search post-migration. For each space, export and identify the pages that are actively referenced.
Export from Confluence
Go to Space Settings > Content Tools > Export. Choose HTML format. The export produces a zip file with all pages and attachments.
For large spaces, do the export in batches to avoid timeout. Prioritize the spaces that correspond to active projects.
Reorganize in Zoobbe
Zoobbe boards replace Confluence spaces. Each active project gets a board. Each board has columns that represent the stages of that project.
Page content that deserves a permanent home goes into the board description or a card comment. Zoobbe cards support rich text and file attachments — enough for most documentation needs.
Do not try to replicate Confluence's page hierarchy in Zoobbe. Flat is better. If a topic needs more than a card can hold, use the card description with headings.
The Cost Difference
Confluence with Jira Standard starts at 3.02 per user per month with a 10-user minimum. That is over 360 per year before you add integrations or premium features.
Zoobbe Standard is 4.99 per user per month with no minimums. For a five-person team that is under 300 per year for the entire tool.
Zoobbe free for teams up to fifteen with no feature restrictions.
