Migrating from Asana to Zoobbe takes less time than you think — if you know what to move and what to leave behind. Most teams make the migration harder than it needs to be by trying to move everything. The move is simpler when you treat it as an opportunity to clean up.
Why Teams Leave Asana
Asana is a capable tool with a long track record. Teams leave for a few consistent reasons: the interface feels dated, the pricing is high for growing teams, or the team adopted it without real buy-in and usage dropped over time.
If your team is not using Asana consistently, the migration is straightforward — you are not losing much by leaving. If your team uses Asana heavily, budget time for a proper handover period.
What to Move and What to Skip
Move your active projects. Move your current tasks with open assignments. Move your team members so they can access Zoobbe without a new account setup.
Do not move completed tasks older than thirty days. Do not move old projects that nobody references. Do not move your Asana inbox — start fresh in Zoobbe and treat it as a clean slate.
Migration is the time to decide what you actually need, not what you used to need.
Step by Step
Export your Asana data from the My Tasks view and the Projects view. Asana's CSV export covers the basics. For complex projects, the API export gives you more detail.
Import into Zoobbe using the board import tool. Create your board structure first, then add tasks. Do not try to match every Asana field — Zoobbe uses fewer fields by design.
Update your team on the new URL. Send a message before the migration explaining what is changing and when. Give them a day or two on the old system before retiring it.
The First Week in Zoobbe
The first week is about habit, not perfection. Your team is learning a new tool. Keep the board simple. Use the default views. Do not add custom fields or complex automations in week one.
After thirty days, you will know what you actually need that Zoobbe does not have yet. That is when you add complexity.
Zoobbe is free for teams up to fifteen. Standard at 4.99 per seat adds unlimited collaborators.
